Karibib Wine Craft is a purpose-built custom crush facility housing 7 craft wine producers. A first of its kind in South Africa it is a winery where small-batch winemakers work side by side to produce wines with love and commitment.
Here, on the hills of Polkadraai near Stellenbosch, the focus is hands-on winemaking. The architectural low-tech style, incorporating many “green” building techniques emphasises this move away from industrial style winemaking.
The Winemakers
All the winemakers here follow a minimalistic intervention philosophy. From the vineyards to the bottle, they work with nature to craft expressive unique wines.
These are all small-batch wines that you’ll rarely experience anywhere else, let alone from such an eclectic group of winemakers. So be sure to swing by for a taste of something fresh and new!

The Birthplace of Smokkelman Wines
Some say he was the answer to prohibition prayers and that on a full moon during harvest time you will never see him. All we know he’s is called Die Smokkelman.
